Product Description
A1 Ground Control’s clever control arm bushing design uses Nylatron thrust washers on each end of center bushings to optimize non-binding, free movement of control arms for a more responsive suspension.
Nylatron GSM Blue is a cast nylon embedded with both molybdenum disulphide (MoS) and oil for improved frictional characteristics. (Nylatron is a registered trade name of Quadrant EPP, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi.)
Nylatron is superior in this application to Delrin or Urethane, but at a far lower price point than spherical bearing (AKA “pillow ball”) based bushings.
Compared to stock bushings, the four front upper bushings are repositioned .300” aft (positive caster), improving high speed straight-line stability and increasing tire contact patch during cornering. Positive caster increases tire lean when cornering (like more negative camber) as the steering angle is increased. Note that if the car doesn’t have functional power steering, slightly increased effort will be required at the steering wheel.
A1 Ground Control NA/NB Miata bushing kits include 22 Stainless Steel tube/Nylatron bushing/Nylatron thrust washer modules for a complete suspension.
